Thank you all for attending the first Invent It course! I hope the children all enjoyed themselves ... and hopefully learnt a bit too!
Below is the outline of what we covered this term. I promised I would share some of the resources as they were quite keen to spend some time at home exploring some more of these topics:
All) classes started with paper Airplanes/ Airplanes
1) Computers / Digital name badge
2) Electricity and Switches / Steady Hand Tester / What is electricity/
3) Ohms Law and Resistors / Microbit reading an input signal / Basic Circuit Demo
4) Sound and Waves / Microbit tone generator/ Longitudinal and Transverse Waves / Spectrum Analyser/ Oscilloscope
5) Hearing limits / Microbit sound meter / How old are your ears/ Hearing Test Online
We have used the BBC Microbit for a few of the practical sessions and this has been an excellent resource that we will continue to use. These can loaned from the library for 2 week periods for use at home - they have about 8 at Charlton Kings library. The platform is very easy to use and there are lots of ideas on the website to try. A great February half term activity!
